Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hasan Papon announced that they will launch their own television channel called ‘BCB TV’ soon to live broadcast Bangladesh’s all upcoming domestic and international cricket matches, Papon told the matter to media after the 8th meeting of the BCB Board of Directors.
“The last Ireland series we didn’t see it on TV. No one [TV channels] showed up. So we decided to apply for BCB TV. Decided today, we will apply for the TV ourselves,” Papon said after the meeting.
“There is a problem with watching games. No one participates during DPL. They broadcast Sri Lanka, UAE games but they are reluctant to show it [Local games]. We will apply for BCB TV. In Sha Allah we will get it. Once we get it, we don’t have to wait to watch the game.” Papon added. In June last year the first Test of Bangladesh’s tour of the West Indies was also live-streamed on the ICC website since no local station purchased the broadcast rights, this was the second time ICC.tv televised a series including Bangladesh.
The board president earlier informed that they are planning to launch the TV channel and today confirmed that they are taking all the necessary actions to elude the hassles with international series and also domestic tournaments.
For the upcoming series against Afghanistan Gazi Tv and T-Sports will broadcast the matches in Bangladesh, while Fancode to broadcast in India and RTA Sports in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the Board approved the salary increase for centrally contracted women players, totaling 25 players. Additionally, the match fees for ODI and T20I matches for women players were also approved to be increased. The minimum compensation for women cricketers under central contract with BCB has been set at Tk50, 000, with a salary ceiling of Tk1, 000,000.

The BCB chief also provided about the purchase of land in Pubail, Gazipur, and in Purbachal, Narayanganj for developing cricket grounds has been approved. Additionally, it has been decided that land will be purchased in Chattogram and Bogura for the purpose.
